Research title
Establishment of a human tongue cancer organoid biobank
Research overview
- Aims
- In cancer treatment using chemotherapeutic agents, a few chemotherapy-resistant cancer cells survive and cause cancer recurrence. These cancer cell subpopulations with anticancer drug-resistant properties called "persister" tumor cells. Therefore, elucidating the molecular basis of persistent tumor generation and establishing eradication strategies of them will aid of many cancer patients. In this study, we use single-cell Multiome analysis (10X Genomics) of a uniquely established human tongue cancer organoid library to characterize persister tumor cell properties based on their gene expression profile and chromatin accessibility.
