Research title
Analytical study of protein function and RNA expression involved in predicting treatment efficacy and adverse event development in lung cancer radiotherapy
Research overview
- Aims
- To elucidate the functions of DNA repair proteins and RNA expression that are involved in the therapeutic efficacy and adverse events of radiotherapy for lung cancer. In particular, this is an exploratory study to identify proteins and RNAs involved in the expression of proteins that are likely to be involved in the prediction of radiotherapy response and adverse events.
- Methods
- Peripheral blood samples were collected from the patients with lung cancer who gave consent for this study. RNA-sequencing analysis was performed with the RNAs extracted from the blood samples.
- Participants/materials
- Patients who have undergone radiotherapy for primary lung cancer at our hospital between 2019 and 2020 will be considered. Among them, we will include cases in which it is possible to determine the effect of treatment and evaluate adverse events before and, and whose blood can be drawn at 3 points: before radiotherapy, at the end of treatment, and 2-4 weeks after treatment.
