We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

We are currently receiving a large number of applications for data submission, and the review process is taking longer than usual. We sincerely apologize for the delay and kindly ask for your understanding. When submitting an application, we would greatly appreciate it if you could allow sufficient time for the processing.

Following a change to our organizational structure effective April 1, 2026, this division has been renamed from the "Database Center for Life Science, Joint Support-Center for Data Science Research" to the "Database Division for Life Science (DBCLS), BioData Science Initiative (BSI), National Institute of Genetics (NIG)". Where the former name still appears in the guidelines, please read it as the new name.

Research title

Research on the establishment of patient derived xenograft models useful for drug discovery research

Research overview

Aims
To analyze the pharmacokinetics and therapeutic effects of anticancer drugs in patients with cancer who are undergoing or have already begun surgical resection, radiotherapy, or anticancer drug therapy by creating a patient-derived xenograft (PDX) model using patient specimens to approximate human biological tissues. This is to create a PDX model using patient specimens to analyze the pharmacokinetics and therapeutic effects of anticancer drugs in a manner that approximates human tissues.
Methods
Whole-exome sequencing and RNA-sequencing analyses
Participants/materials
- Non-small cell lung cancer with driver gene abnormalities 4 cases (33 samples)
- 52 + 269 cases with any cancer (germline tissues:44 + 269 samples, tumor tissues from PDX: 52 + 795 samples, tumor tissues from patients: 125 samples)
