Research title

Detection of genetic changes associated with development of duodenal adenoma and their application for predicting the progression to cancer by endoscopy

Research overview

Aims
The aim of this study is to analyze the methylation and mutation status of non-ampullary duodenal lesions in order to detect the genetic changes for predicting the progression to adenocarcinomas.
Methods
Exome sequencing was performed to detect driver gene mutations, copy number alterations, and fusion genes in non-ampullary duodenal carcinogenesis.
Participants/materials
We used DNA samples of three non-ampullary duodenal adenomas and three adjacent normal mucosa from three Japanese patients with non-ampullary duodenal adenoma.
