Following a change to our organizational structure effective April 1, 2026, this division has been renamed from the "Database Center for Life Science, Joint Support-Center for Data Science Research" to the "Database Division for Life Science (DBCLS), BioData Science Initiative (BSI), National Institute of Genetics (NIG)". Where the former name still appears in the guidelines, please read it as the new name.

P-DIRECT Data Access Policy (JGAP000004)

In addition to the "NBDC Guidelines for Human Data Sharing" and the "NBDC Security Guidelines for Human Data (for Data Users)", we also set the following data use restrictions:

Cf. 4.1.1. The data submitters can set data use restrictions that conform to the restrictions specified in the informed consent (e.g., limitation on the scope of diseases for data use).

The following statement must be included in the research proposals for IRB. “We take and share the responsibilities for secure management and proper use of P-DIRECT data deposited in the NBDC Human Database with the head of the institution.”
